Referral

Did You Know?

Many Hispanic patients, like Carlos, are not referred for transplant at all. In a single-center, retrospective, cohort study of 200 patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), 74% of Hispanic patients were not referred for transplant. This proportion was markedly higher than the proportion of Black and White patients who were not referred (26% and 23%, respectively).3

Sanofi Supports

Due to language barriers, many patients, like Carlos, may not understand the transplant information their medical staff provides. Sanofi has developed an educational initiative called the Kidney Transplant Connectors (KTCs) program in both English and Spanish to provide information regarding a kidney transplant.

To learn more about the KTC program, please see available resources at the end of this journey.
